Students whose GPA for any one semester falls below 2.00 or students whose cumulative GPA falls below 2.00, but above probation guidelines in the first semester will be placed on academic warning by the Admissions and Academic Standards Committee. Academic probation guidelines apply once a student completes 12 or more hours.
Students whose GPA after 12 credit hours at Urbana University falls below the following standards will be placed on Academic Probation for a period of one academic term. Academic probation places a student on notice that satisfactory academic progress has not occurred and that the student is in jeopardy of being suspended if progress is not apparent. If a student is placed on academic probation, the student may be ineligible to participate in recognized student activities, including intercollegiate athletics or club sports.

Continued Academic Probation
Students on academic probation may be continued on probation if they are making progress toward reasonable academic standards. Failure to show improvement in the GPA will result in dismissal for academic performance.
